How Ironic

How ironic is it that the child that we got cochlear implants for because we didn't want her to use sign language( we wanted her to be oral)  is now wanting to learn sign language and in fact is already learning some sign language.
That is the wonder of cochlear implants.........Allison can learn sign language not because she has to, but because she wants to.

I hope you learn, too.
If not, you're going to be left in the dust!

Please understand that spoken language has been Allison's 1st mode of communication( has been and always will be). We are raising her in an oral world. She is 9 years old and is pretty much set in her ways of talking.
What I was saying is that because of the wonderful gift of Cochlear Implants, she can have the best of both worlds. If she wants to learn sign language, she can, not because she has to, but because she wants to.
