Family Love

There really is nothing sweeter than Jared and Allison holding their baby brother. It will be coming to an end soon, Jordan is so active that he does not want anyone to hold him. Can you say Mr. Independent?

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!

Allison is such a good big sister, she happily shared her ice cream with Jordan. I will need to remind her of this moment when Jordan is getting into her stuff. I can just hear her now "Mom, Jordan won't leave me alone." :-)

Allison's appointment

Allison had her appointment at Children's today for her mapping of her new implant. While we did not get as much gain as we would have liked, we are still thankful for the progress we have seen. They did a booth test on Allison and she was at 40 dB across the board. I really think she heard a lot more than the test showed, she kept looking back at me for reassurance and had that look in her eye that showed she heard it, she just was not real sure of it.
The audiologist we work with was great with her and gave me some really good exercises to try and help "wake up " her ear. Hopefully, we will get another mapping done before she starts school next month.

It's a big big world out there!!

These are some of my favorite shots of kids. Jordan is looking so longingly at the world outside. I can almost hear him saying-"When can I go outside and play"?

Stolen Implants

I guess this is a good warning for all of us who have children who wear implants. This is a sad commentary on life today.
Check out the story at: http://www.breitbart.tv ( for some reason I cannot get the story to come up right, but if you click on the crime section you will be able to find it there. Look for the story title-Thieves steal pricey hearing aid from 3 year old's head.)

Jordan's Big Week

Jordan has had quite the week, on Tuesday he figured out how to crawl on his hands and knees, so he no longer looks like he is ready for combat. Yesterday he decided it would be fun to climb up the stairs, he got to the 3rd step before he looked back to see if I was watching, I was and spoiled his fun by taking him down. I guess it is time to break out the baby gates. He has also figured out how to sit himself down from a standing position. He is cruising along the furniture, so I don't think it will be long before our baby boy is walking. Where has the time gone, wasn't it just yesterday I was waiting and praying for the baby God had blessed our family with?
