Allison is doing a great job adjusting to the new implant. This morning we did some testing with just her right side and she was able to hear all of the "ling" sounds ( those who do AV therapy will know all about those) :-) What a great encouragement that we did the right thing. We are so happy with her progress. It is hard to believe that just 3 short years ago, we were at the start of this process and now we are getting ready to send her to Kindergarten in the fall, in a typical oral classroom. How far she has come!! I remember just waiting for her to say her 1st word, which by the way was "help", she wanted to go outside and play, but did not have her shoes on. She sat on the steps and said it clear as day. Of course I cried like a baby, but it was such a special moment. Now at times we have to ask her not to talk so much and let her brother get a word in.
I guess we as parents all have those moments, when we wait for them to walk and talk and then we want them to sit down and be quiet. The joy of being a parent. :-)
