Allison's new implant
I thought I would give an update on how Allison is doing with the new implant. She is now putting it on in the morning and will at least do the 15-20 min of therapy with it on. She complains that she cannot hear out of that side, but we are telling her that it will come. I guess it is a good thing she does not remember her 1st attempts at hearing, if she did, she probably would not have wanted the 2nd side done.
There is a commercial for a drink for kids( for the life of me I cannot remember what it is, maybe when I explain the commercial someone can help me). The mom and girl are in the grocery store, the mom is going through the list of things they need to get. "We need broccoli", the girl says, "I don't like broccoli", "we need chicken" "I don't like chicken". Allison has seen this commercial several times, so she knows what the girl says. Allison was sitting with her back to the TV and the commercial came on, Allison listened to it and told me what the girl was going to say before it was said. I never thought I would be so happy that my child could tell me word for word what a commercial was about. Thank you, Allison for the daily reminders that Daddy and Mommy made the right decision for you. :-)

Olympic Diver
As a parent we are always looking for positive role models for our children, someone that we can point to and say "if they can do it, so can you". There is a diver who is trying to make the Olympics named Chris Colwill who has a 60% hearing loss and wears hearing aids. Yesterday he finished 2nd in the Olympic trials and is in a very good position to make the team. I will be watching the Olympics and cheering on the USA and my heart will swell with pride each time the National Anthem is played.

Jordan's surgery
Jordan had his surgery on his tongue today. Everything went well. They took him at 7:20 and by 7:30, the doctor was out to talk to me. They brought him back at around 8:05 and I was able to nurse him, which went very well, I was afraid that it would affect his ability to nurse. We were able to leave the hospital at around 8:30 and were home by 8:45. Thank you all for your prayers, even though this was a minor procedure, it's still was scary handing him over to the nurses. We are so thankful that God cares for even the little things.
